Steve Wang’s Review
While walking the endless hallways of the dealer’s room at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con, a certain display caught my eye and I knew I had to check it out. What can I say? My jaw was on the ground when I saw this amazingly detailed TDK Batsuit on display and absolutely could not believe my ears when Dave Tognoli Pea (owner, designer of Universal designs) told me it was a fully functional motorcycle suit and it will be for sale! Like a little kid in a candy store, I asked him if I could try it on. Dave was very gracious. Not only did I get to try it on, he gave me a guided tour of all the functions and safety features of the suit.
I had just spent 2 and a half years producing a TV show called ‘Kamen Rider Dragon Knight’ where all the characters rode motorcycles so I’ve been around a lot of motorcycles, professional stunt riders and had very good knowledge of the inner workings of motorcycle suits.
Upon trying the suit, my first impression was “I look like freaking Batman!” This suit is very screen accurate which as a huge Batman fan is a giant plus. It was beyond cool! But after I calmed down a little, I started to notice all the safety features that went into the construction of the suit. From the 4-way stretch cordura spandex mesh to the removable inner armor and lining to the Kevlar outer armor, KEVLAR! How much more awesome can it be, I asked myself? Not only can I look like the Dark Knight riding my bike, I can feel completely safe knowing I am protected with the best possible safety features a legitimate motorcycle suit can offer!
I was also really impressed with the overall fit too. Mobility was excellent. I could really feel all the thought that went into making this suit as comfortable and functional as possible. I felt like a superhero! And all the compliments I got from a picture I posted on facebook didn’t hurt either! This suit is a total stunner! Get one and be prepared to get some serious attention on the streets!
